  2. Gorgeous vlog with the gorgeous Glow! You're very expressive - love it! (And it was especially handy this morning as husband was hogging the TV and would have had a pink fit I asked him to turn it off for a minute while I watched a vlog.)

  3. A MASSIVE brain fart. It was previewing as HTML only but I thought I'd take a chance that it was a preview glitch... it wasn't. Oops. Have had to fiddle with the settings, no idea why it's not interpreting code.

  4. I considered putting "talky" music behind it but couldn't find any when I made it last night.

  5. Omg I've wanted to learn sign language for a gazillion years! You are one talented woman!

I used to mimic sign language as a child and my sisters would crack up laughing cause I had no idea what I was doing!

  6. G has mad skills. I've wanted to learn Auslan since working in a retail store and having deaf customer try to ask me the where abouts of a product. I had no idea what she wanted and she got mad at me and walked off to find it on her own.

  7. Holy crap that was AWESOME! I am impressed! Sign language is so interesting, and I love that it's as expressive and emotive as the spoken word.
Well done you - rock the Auslan!!

  8. Certainly a woman of many talents. xx

The First 'sign' word i was ever taught was 'dickhead' taught to me by a 4 year old..

  9. Ah well you'll like this then; the signs for warm, black and prostitute are very, very similar, Aunty Penny and I used to always laugh when using them because we'd stop for a second to make sure we were using the right one!

  10. Sign language is all about facial expression and gesture! All conversations look animated, it's brilliant. You should see someone argue in sign, it's amazing to watch :P

  11. I learned at TAFE part time years ago. I'm not fluent any more but I can get by... just.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hahaha I used to do that too! I learned the alphabet from a kid's TV show and the front of the Yellow Pages and was hooked, had to go learn more.

  13. You never fail to amuse me with your creative talent Glow.

  14. wow! you are one talented lady! my Auslan skills are pretty limited - half the alphabet if i really wracked my brains and maybe a few actual signs....wow! rusty? not to me - i'm totally convinced!

  15. My kids are learning Auslan at school and kinder and it pisses me off when they start signing at me.  I could learn from them, I guess, but I'm a grumpy, lazy mama.

Thanks for the entertainment.  You inspire me to vlog.  Soon...

  16. This is my first FYBF - exciting!  Although Im not sure it has worked, never mind, the intention was there :)  Well done on the Auslan.  Some mornings I am battling to speak normal English so that is a great effort xx

  17. Wow, arent we a little bit clever, love the facial expressions! xox

  18. You may have to post a vlog showing those three so that we may have a laugh too =P I know that ASL (American Sign Language) is fun to watch too :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I wish I learnt ASL! (American Sign Language...they don't offer Auslan here...I wonder why...). I had (few) opportunities, but didn't take them, because the commute was far too long, it would have driven my credit hours way too high, it wouldn't have helped my grade point average, it would have cost too much, and my life was a bit hectic. I learnt the sign for boring, interesting, and funny at my internship, and probably would have learnt more had I not been terminated. Such is life.

I also probably would have been earlier with my linky had I not fallen asleep when I got home from my final today at 3pm....it's 8:45pm now (time difference)...I woke up at 8:30 and went "oh crap, I need to go add my link, I'm late!" lol. Time to check some blogs out. Thanks for the video, I love watching sign language, although Auslan is not really like what I've seen in ASL. =/ I'd probably be confused!

Today was my last day of university. It hasn't hit yet. I'm still in shock.

  20. That was TOTALLY WICKED. You have some mad skills. I wouldnt know if you looked rusty. Looked pretty good to me. Feeling a little more inspired to learn now.

  22. Hey, so clever, you'e bi-lingual!  Fear not, no pimple was observable, not that we'd have cared at all.  Have a good weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  23. You are like Madonna, always keeping us entertained with fresh material :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. That was so friggin' clever ! Fluent in Auslan AS WELL as being beautiful and smart ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yet again you impress with your amazing talent! I wonder what else you can do that we haven't seen yet???

    ReplyDelete
  26. awesome signing! Ive always wanted to learn auslan! great post.. :) x

  27. Hey Ashley! Just like any language, sign language differs between countries so Auslan and ASL are hugely different. ASL is based on the French and Auslan is based on the English, but there are still big differences between all of them. Even within Australia the dialects are really different and East Coasters would have to concentrate to understand my West Coast signs! Slang words and cultural differences mean every community develop their own signs, it's really cool.
Congrats on finishing university, go have a few drinks to celebrate!

  28. Wow that video is great, I know the alphabet in auslan - learnt it at high school.

  29. Have I told you this week how much I love you? x

  30. It's a handy skill in really loud clubs :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ah, Trish, it's either this or scrapbooking and I'm not patient enough for that!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I wish it was taught at more schools, it's considered a LOTE so there's a whole curriculum ready and waiting to go.

I'll teach you the swear words so you know what to look for :P

  33. Welcome, Eloise! Hope you enjoy your first Flogging!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Is there anything you can't do???

    ReplyDelete
  35. I cannot do anything sport related. I'm allergic.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Now I'm singing "Have I told you lately". This will be stuck in my head for days. xxx

    ReplyDelete
  37. You'd be surprised how far you'd get just knowing the alphabet :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. You should do it! It's great fun to learn.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can sing the national athem... possibly not good enough for a vlog, but I know both the official verses!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Not fluent any more, far from it! I used to be pretty good when I used it daily though.

    ReplyDelete
  41. After uploading it I realized you couldn't really see it, but as I filmed it came up bright red.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Mad skills, mad woman. Kinda fits.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Most of them only come out after a few wines :P

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hey that was good auslan and I'm proud of me that I understood some of it without looking at the subtitles -much! I work in special education and pick uP what I can to survive. But really wish I had time to do a course!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Maybe rusty, but better than most of us could do...

    ReplyDelete
  46. There is a free auslan app with basic signs at iTunes I like it and u see visual of each sign--you'll get hooked!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hey Glow,

Awesome job.  My husband is notorious for mixing signs up particularly the black and prostitute ones and meat and horny - go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Bloody hell woman - is there anything you CAN'T do????

Oh...and can you tell me the blogging ettiquette in regard to linking up - am I allowed to link a post that I've also linked to somewhere else?  Or is that just being a tramp?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I always mix up warm, black and prostitute. So a lot of the time I'll just say "warm black prostitute" and hope they figure out what I mean.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I cannot bake and decorate cakes like you :P

And it's fine to whore out the same post. Embrace your inner tramp xxx

    ReplyDelete
  51. I love your vlog. That was soo cool. I used to know alot of Auslan when I was at uni but I have lost most of it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I've lost so much from lack of use. I was so close to being fluent and now I struggle to keep up with a conversation and need everything repeated.

    ReplyDelete
  53. no....next time we see each other you can teach me :)
