FlogYoBlog Friday: The Father's Day Edition

Howdy once again Floggers!

This Sunday is Father's Day in Australia which means at this very moment there are kids everywhere making really awful beautiful hand made cards.

It's Map Guy's second Father's Day so on one hand it's slightly less special than last year, but on the other hand, Tricky will be able to wake his Dada up this year with snuggly morning cuddles (aka jumping up and down on his head).

Map Guy (who subscribes to the blog but doesn't actually read it) is getting this gorgeous photo of himself and Tricky on the beach at Cervantes in Western Australia, in a nice frame.

Nawww, so cute. It's prolly the best photo I've ever taken and it's completely raw, no Instagram filters for once. Enough schmaltzy photos, let's Flog, baby!

  1. That photo is gorgeous.
Seriously. I'm all into artsy family shots like that over traditional posed one's.

  2. That's a lovely photo. Once he gets over the fact that his bum is on the internet I'm sure he will love it. Great memories. Butts not bad either :p

  3. The Irishman already got his awfully beautiful handmade Fathers Day card. Sienna made it at daycare on Tuesday, and it came with a chocolate coin. I was so tempted to eat it myself.

  5. That's a lovely photo and such a simple idea. I think I try to make it all too complex and then come up with nothing. There is much to be said for simplicity!

  6. Very beautiful photo. I was thinking of the same gift idea but then I realized hubby & child do not have any pic worthy of the wall. School held a Father's Day booth yesterday so Hubby will surely receive a mug.

  7. Aww bless...gorgeous pic. (And thankfully I looked back to the screen while typing that, as originally it said Ass bless... which is a whole other type of holy blessing, no?)

I think you should let Tricky at the paints and he can create a masterpiece card for Map Guy. And also redecorate your lounge, walls and floors, if he's anything like the twin tornado.  I'm mega helpful, I know!

  9. Father's Day is always in June here in the US, following Mother's Day in May, both of which are on Sundays. This is so confusing! I keep seeing Aussie Father's Day stuff and thinking I'm forgetting something....

  12. Gorgeous pic, Glowless! We're doing the ol' photo montage for Daddy's Day. It's Hubby's birthday next week too, so we'll have to get doubly creative. A handprint family tree, perhaps? xx

  14. Beautiful photo! J Boy and I are going to whip up a 'made with love' card this afternoon, complete with messy handprints and cheesy verse! Might buy some socks and jocks as well, just to get him accustomed early to standard Fathers Day gifts!

Aww! That is one gorgeous photo. Map Guy will love it. I remember the first Valentines James and I were celebrating after moving in together and I had taken all these cute photos of myself - which was a big deal - to get printed and James said to me one night "You're not doing something lame like giving me photos" and I was completely crushed and have never given him photos. Ever.

  26. I got so much sand in my pants crawling along the beach trying to take some arty farty shots. It was worth it just for this one. A few good ones came out of that day, but this is my favourite :)

  29. Simple, doesn't break the bank, and I'm sure it will be loved. Was a bit expensive to get it put on a canvas, so a frame will have to do.

  30. There is much to be said for the mug! Map Guy doesn't have hot drinks or he'd be getting one too!

  31. I think our Mother's Day is May? They're both on Sundays but I figured it was a good theme :)

  36. Nup, he rarely reads. His work colleagues do sometimes so they keep him up to speed :P

  37. You can't really see, but MG was stroking Tricky's hair. It was so lovely.

  38. It's definitely going to be a tough one for my Dad. xxx

  39. I tried playing with it in photoshop but kept just going back to the original image as it was.

  40. He requested a board game so I got him that too, even though it's more of a family present than a Father's Day present.
