Map Guy's work does RSPCA Cupcake Day. I will admit I'd never heard of it before which is weird because, hello, a whole day devoted to CUPCAKES and PUPPIES!
They asked for volunteers to make cupcakes to be sold and being the show off that I am wanting to get in some fondant practice, I put my hand up.
I'm loving my cake decorating class and all the tips and tricks I'm picking up but sadly, I'm also picking up a few kilos along the way, too. The great thing about making these babies is since they're for a fundraiser I can't eat any of them. Unfortunately the down side to this is that I CAN'T EAT ANY OF THEM.
I'm so in love with them and really happy with how they worked out. I can't figure out which is my favourite. I keep swinging between the dog and the little Shaun the Sheep look-a-like.
And this is the bit where I tell you they weren't actually hard to make, just fiddly, particularly with a toddler who wanted to point out the animals and bring over farmyard story books every two minutes. A bit of fondant, a couple of colours, a few cutters and three thousand renditions of Old MacDonald and voila!
Would you eat all the cute?
Never let cuteness, or green icing, get in the way of a good feed, I say. Good job! Pink pigs my favourite, by the way.
ReplyDeleteOink oink! Fabulous point, Emma, I'll head to MG's work now and dig in!
ReplyDeletethey are so cute!! You are very creative!! I LOVE the shaun the sheep!! but think the lil piggy is cute too!!! Great job!!! Did u make the fondant or use the spotlight stuff? I want to dabble in cake making.. actually I just want to learn how to use a piping bag!!! That way I can show off at the next birthday party we hold :) hehe
ReplyDeleteI used the Bakels Pettinice RTR for this, it's my favourite ready-made one, but I added some tylose to it to firm it up. Join a cake class! I'm just in the beginner class (and won't be continuing on because I'm not doing it to start a business, just to make cakes for our own occasions) and I've learned so much x
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I bet they'll sell out straight away! Shaun the sheep is adorable, but I also have a soft spo for cows :)
ReplyDeleteThe best part is that Jeffy is bringing me one home!!!
ReplyDeleteSHEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are beyond adorable. Moo would love the cow ones!
ReplyDeleteX
Thanks Janelle! Part of me is hoping they don't so that one or two might come home for me to try!
ReplyDeleteHahaha woooo! I wouldn't have the will power to buy one and not eat it.
ReplyDeleteBaaaaaaaaaa
ReplyDeleteA moo for Moo? Perfect. They're actually my least favourite. Probably because I kept knocking off their horns and wanted to throw them across the room?
ReplyDeleteYum. I'd like to eat them all.
ReplyDelete:) I wish I'd gotten to taste one!
ReplyDeletewhere do u get Bakels?? I was told woolies and coles sell fondant.. never seen it!! I want to join a cake class.. just for the fun of it!! No need to start a cake business in Perth - competiton is fierce when it comes to selling cupcakes!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I think i'd have to go for the sheep! SO cute!
ReplyDeleteloving Shaun .... these are great. You're not even sort of fooling me with the grass buttercream story.
